GLS reaffirms claim to ownership of Leopard 1 battle tanks

After the German company Global Logistics Support GmbH (GLS) filed a claim for 25 of the Leopard 1 battle tanks stored by RUAG in Italy in a media release last August 24, the company has now obtained a super-provisional injunction for their return before an Italian court.

Last August 24, the German company Global Logistics Support GmbH (GLS) announced in a press release that it had laid claim to 25 of the Leopard 1 battle tanks stored by RUAG in Italy.

GLS is of the opinion that it purchased the tanks from RUAG in 2019 and is now demanding their return. To this end, GLS recently obtained a super-provisional injunction from an Italian court in summary proceedings, ordering the local warehouse keeper to hand over the vehicles. As this is a decision that was issued in unilateral proceedings, it is only provisional, has no legal force and cannot be enforced until at least the expiry of the objection period.

RUAG is currently examining its legal options in this connection.
