System and equipment constructor EFZ [Swiss certificate of competence]

System and equipment constructors process sheet metal, profiles and pipes. They do this using traditional tools such as saws, bending equipment and welders, as well as with computer-controlled bending machines, welding robots and laser cutting systems. They use joining techniques such as screwing, riveting, soldering and welding to assemble the individual parts. As you can see, this profession combines traditional and state-of-the-art craft techniques in one.

System and equipment constructors process the parts with extreme precision, ensuring that the assembly runs smoothly. Precise planning of work processes is also essential. In doing so, they ensure that the specifications regarding occupational safety, health and environmental protection are complied with.

The system and equipment constructors carry out most of their work in production halls. However, the final assembly is often carried out away off-site at the final location. They usually work in a team and together with other professionals. Working at RUAG is therefore extremely varied.
