RUAG Innovation Forum 2023

For sovereign security.

For sovereign security.

The RUAG Innovation Forum

Every year, the Forum is attended by defence and security sector innovation experts. The Forum promotes innovation and technology as a means of improving Switzerland's sovereign security. The recent conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East show that peace cannot be taken for granted. This event aims to help make a positive and lasting impact on our security through innovation.

This forum, which is unique to Switzerland, includes keynotes from opinion leaders and an industrial exhibition of innovation projects and startups. In an inspiring, modern environment, we create a platform for successful, cross-sector networking.

IMPRESSIONS OF THE 2023 FORUM

The 2023 forum was attended by over 200 guests and included 25 exhibition stands for innovation projects and start-ups. During the keynotes, we had the opportunity to hear Corps Commander Thomas Süssli talk about the importance of technology in modern defence policy, and Professor Peter Seitz present a scientific approach to creativity. This was the first time we gave the “RUAG Startup Innovation Award” and the “RUAG National Student Innovation Award”, following a pitch competition and a public vote.

The start-up award went to Sharekey SA and its CEO Hervé Blanc. This competition recognises the most innovative start-up to emerge from RUAG's accelerator programme as selected by the community of experts attending the forum.

The student prize went to Benjamin Mouchet from HE-ARC for his work on war gaming using augmented reality. This award is the national final of the RUAG Innovation Award, awarded regionally by participating universities and colleges throughout Switzerland.
